with thanks...

This is a site put together by Philip's family. We would like to thank family, friends and colleagues that have assisted us in getting this site launched.

Being such a personal venture, it has been a challenge to put together the sites content with any where near the cool objectivity of an art critic. Thus we hope you will forgive any slightly emotive content if it crops up.

We are grateful for the considerable help of the now departed Bill Blinston in his diligent interviewing of the friends and acquaintances of Philip, just after Philip's death. In researching, and writing about the sculptures and the motivations behind the collected works, Bill was one of the first to see the value in publicising Philip's work and thinking.

We remain eternally grateful to the Television South West team; the camera crews, John Bartlett (the producer) and Rene Wyndham who interviewed and gave Philip the widest possible audience in the mid-eighties. We are also grateful for the sympathetic and professional work of the current TSW Archive technicians who have helped us with the film materials that will soon offer more depth to this site.

We hope you will find this site thought-provoking. If this is the case, it would give us great pleasure to read your reflections in the guestbook in the Contact section, or to receive any emails about what you think of his work. All emails will receive a personal reply.

Finally, we would be especially pleased to hear from anyone who actually knew Philip, or from anyone who has knowledge of where some of his sculptures have ended up.
